So You Think You Can Shoot

Come out and show your skill in the 2010 Canadian Historical Arms Society’s first annual “So You Think You Can Shoot” open competition.
This competition is intended to imitate shooting in a real world hunting situation. With average hunting shots in Alberta being in the 100M-300M range, this competition is open to any legally licensed shooter with a commercially available rifle and hunting ammunition. This will establish “Bragging Rights” as “Best Shot” for 2010.
How can you be the So You Think You Can Shoot Champion? Simple, shoot the best grouping on the bull that you can shoot.
Plaques and Gift Certificates will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
Entry fee is $10.00 per person and $5.00 for each additional event, time permitting. Registration on site.
Fish and Game members please bring your club membership ID.

Are you interested in trying the new BROWNING SHOTGUNS? Browning will be on site at the trap house with the 2010 SHOTGUNS and you will be able to try them and ask questions. Ammunition is supplied by WINCHESTER.
NIKON will also be joining us and have a selection of SPOTTING, RIFLE AND RANGE FINDER products on site.
The rules:
- Any Legal Big Game Hunting Calibre in Alberta (.243 or larger)
- Rifles must be commercially available although any vintage is allowed.
- Hunting ammunition only, Hand Loads acceptable.
- Maximum 10x scope power, scopes will be checked prior to firing. Those in excess of 10x will be taped at a maximum of 10X.
- No bench rests or shooting bags are allowed, shooting sticks, bi pods or other methods of field hunting shooting OK. Other items at the discretion of the judges.
- Prone, sitting, off hand or other common field shooting positions will be allowed.
Please note NO Truck Quad shooting will be allowed! - A total of 3 (three) shots in 2 (two) minutes will be allowed.
- All targets will be the same or similar and will be provided.
- Scoring method will be announced at the shoot and is entirely at the discretion of the Judges.
- In the case of a tie, a Shoot Off will be held at the 250 OR 300 Meter mark.
